On October 22nd, 1985, we started framing up the floor of the cabin.  This became a family project, and we all pitched in to help nail the boards.  With a little practice, we all got pretty good with the hammer, though there were a few bruised fingers from the near misses.  It took about a week to finish up the floor, but we took our time and did it right.

In order to square and level the staves, batten boards and chalk lines were used to lay down the 6" x 6" timbers for the floor and foundation.
The floor is coming right along here, this shot shows the size the cabin will be quite nicely.
The first of the floor boards goes down and the floor is finished up.  Now the real work must begin, placing the first row of logs.  This was to be the biggest job so far and required many hands.
